A new charge of possessing stolen property was filed Wednesday for Julian D J Taylor after he led officers on a pursuit on I-75.
An investigation conducted by the Special Investigation Unit traced the vehicle to a dealership in suburban Atlanta. When contacted Wednesday, the Smyrna business had not noticed the 2013 Cadillac, which they valued at $44,985, was missing.
They filed a theft report with Smyrna police. At that time, detectives for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office filed a charge of possessing stolen property in excess of $10,000 in General Sessions Court.
Taylor, 23, of University Park, Il., was previously charged with resisting arrest, misuse of plates, evading, and reckless endangerment. He led Bradley County and other officers on a pursuit Tuesday along I-75 after a detective noticed the tag was registered to another make of vehicle. He later wrecked near the Hiwassee River bridge.
Taylor remains in the Bradley County jail.
